The requirements for initiation into active membership into the local chapter are the following:

  1. The student must have been involved in five total activities and attend four of six required meetings

  2. Pay $20 for a year's worth of dues, or $15 for one semester worth of dues.

Maintain Your Active Status

**All students are able to participate in all activities.**

During your first year as a member, one must attend 4 of the meetings and participate in 3 volunteer events and attend 2 socials, or vice versa, to be an "active freshman member"

Sophomores

Also, as set by the national AED, you must have an overall and science GPA of 3.2 at the time of initiation. Any sophomore can be initiated, even if this is their first year as a member of AED.

Juniors and seniors who are not yet initiated can also be initiated in the spring by completing the above requirements during the fall semester.

**Once you are an active member, you will receive priority over non-active members for events in which there are only a limited number of spots open, e.g. med school trips, open heart observations, gross anatomy demos, autopsy viewing, etc.**
